What We Do:

There are several ways to help in the fight against tobacco. The Coalition for a Tobacco-Free Utah works in the following ways:

Task Force

Utah Tobacco Prevention Task Force meets quarterly to discuss tobacco issues in Utah.

General Meeting

Meets each month to discuss tobacco issues in Utah and coordinate tobacco prevention and cessation at a grassroots level.

Healthcare Committee

CTFU’s healthcare committee coordinates tobacco cessation efforts among health care providers statewide by educating providers about the resources available to help their patients quit using tobacco.

Advocacy Committee

CTFU’s advocacy committee promotes and supports legislation designed to further tobacco prevention and control.

Worksites Committee

CTFU’s worksite committee promotes and recognizes smoke-free worksites, outdoor events, housing, and communities.

Membership Committee

CTFU’s membership committee oversees recruitment of CTFU members and coordinates CTFU participation at events.

Special Populations Committee

CTFU’s special populations committee identifies and makes recommendations for populations disparately affected by tobacco use. Namely, there are networks in place to identify and address tobacco-related disparaties in the Hispanic, Native American, African American, Asian, Pacific Islander, and LGBT populations.
